IMC - Gulf Coast Gastroenterology, LLC, is a gastroenterology practice located in beautiful Fairhope, Alabama. The practice is owned by Infirmary Medical Clinics, which is part of Infirmary Health. With the population growth in the community, the practice is looking to add more gastroenterologists to the group. Hospital Physicians will perform all of their cases at Thomas Hospital, which has 162 beds. The GI lab at Thomas Hospital recently added additional input and recovery bays, as well as a new therapeutic endoscopy room. The lab offers a full range of GI procedures including EUS, ERCP, esophageal and anal manometry, pH and impedance testing, single balloon endoscopy, endo-luminal stenting, endoscopic suturing, EMR, cholangioscopy, pseudocyst drainage. There is anesthesia support for all cases. Clinic The practice is organized as a hybrid. Patient care currently makes up 70-80% of time. The remaining time comes out of research, particularly developing new accessories for advanced endoscopy. Other areas of research include EUS guided liver biopsy, choloangiocarcinoma treatments, neuroendocrine tumors and some IBD drug studies. The call rotation is currently 1 in 3. Location Rated as one of the best towns in the Southeast, Fairhope, Alabama is a picturesque coastal city approximately 45 minutes from Mobile, AL, 1 hour from Pensacola, FL and 2.5 hours from New Orleans. Fairhope is known for its active arts community, beautiful downtown floral displays, recreational trails and events for people of all ages. There are excellent public and private school options in the area; plus numerous colleges and universities. Compensation • Base salary for first 2 years with w/RVU Productivity Bonus • Call pay • Signing bonus – based on candidate’s qualifications • Educational loan assistance – based on candidate’s qualifications • Up to $10,000 for relocation expenses • $3,700 per year for medical association memberships • $5,000 per year for CME • Option to earn more compensation by teaching GI fellows at the local Medical School, or helping with medical student rotations, but this is not required to join the practice.
