WCCHS is currently recruiting one OBGYN provider to be part of its OBGYN practice which is located on the campus of the Hospital. WCCHS OBGYN practice model is comprised of two midwives and two OBGYN’s with the potential of adding a third. The midwives have significant experience and handle the majority of births. The OBGYN’s are expected to be proficient in all areas of OBGYN service including surgery and interested in practice in a rural environment with support from a large teaching hospital. WCCHS is the only hospital in the county and the closest hospitals to the East, South and West are 35 to 60 miles away. The number of births in the catchment area is approximately 400 annually and WCCHS goal is to provide services related to approximately 250 – 275 of those births per year.
