Salary: $190,000 to $225,000 per year Appointment type: Permanent Work schedule: Full-Time Locations: 3 vacancies in the following locations: Bath, NY Canandaigua, NY Rochester, NY Relocation expenses reimbursed: No Telework eligible: No Duties Summary There are Physician (Primary Care) positions located within the VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center, the Bath VA Medical Center, Rochester Outpatient Clinic as well as possible opportunities at the associated outpatient clinics. Responsibilities · Work with a multidisciplinary team that includes nursing, social work, dietetics, clinical pharmacy, behavioral health and clerical support. · Perform and record history and physical examinations, and record data from clinic visit. · Evaluate, consult, develop diagnoses, and manage the primary care panel of patients assigned. · Enter progress notes in computerized medical record and complete workload documentation in a timely manner. · Provide medical care encompassing acute and chronic medical conditions and all appropriate preventive care. · Order diagnostic tests, medications, laboratory tests as medically relevant for each patient. · See patients via VA approved, secure video and telemedicine modalities. · Provide timely follow-up on results, including completion of view alerts. · Determine medical assessment and develop treatment plans according to accepted protocols. · Prescribe medication according to approved formulary, and in accordance with Federal and State Law. · Collaborate with an assigned mid-level provider and complete collaborative case reviews as assigned. · Other duties as assigned, and based upon organizational need. Work Schedule: Permanent, Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 AM. No weekend or on-call required. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Physical requirements outlined below. Preferred Experience: Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice preferred. Reference: VA Regulations, specifically VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G-2 Physician Qualification Standard. This can be found in the local Human Resources Office.
