Job Description
The Cincinnati& Children’s Heart Institute is recruiting a full-&me General Pediatric Cardiologist to join our Greater Louisville and Western Kentucky Practice and support our expanding network of outpatient fetal, pediatric, and adult congenital cardiology locations in Greater Louisville, Western Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Additional training in non-invasive imaging including fetal echo is preferred. The successful candidate will join ?ve pediatric and adult congenital cardiologists who currently provide outpatient care at seven locations. All faculty participate in weekly clinical management conferences. Salary will be commensurate with training and experience. The Cincinnati Children’s Heart Institute is one of the largest pediatric and congenital cardiology programs in the nation with more than 135 world-renowned physicians, researchers, and fellows. This currently includes eight cardiothoracic surgery faculty, over 60 pediatric cardiologists and 10 basic science research faculty, in addition to several jointly appointed faculty, as well as adjunct and sta? positions. In FY22 the Heart Institute saw over 27,000 outpatient visits across 26 sites, including 19 outreach locations and seven neighborhood locations. Our team of internationally renowned surgeons perform an average of 600 cardiothoracic surgeries across our programs each year and work hand-in-hand with the medical team to achieve one of the highest surgical survival rates in the country. Novel ventures, such as the Fontan Clinic, Cardiac Rehab Program and Cardio-Oncology Program, provide condition-speci?c expertise with an eye toward the future of precision cardiac care. In addition, Cardiology researchers published over 400 papers in FY22 and generated more than $14M in external research revenue. Over the last ?ve years, Heart Institute has experienced tremendous strategic growth. Collaborations with regional health systems, including the Joint Pediatric and Congenital Heart Program with the University of Kentucky, are a key driver of the expansion of clinical care. Launched in 2017, the Joint Pediatric and Congenital Heart Program has completed over 2,300 surgical and interventional procedures speci?c to the University of Kentucky market, with higher acuity cases being performed at Cincinnati Children’s. Joint patient care and teaching conferences for pediatric cardiology and adult congenital patients are presented several times weekly, allowing for collaboration between sites. Quali?cations: - New graduate pediatric cardiology fellow or experienced clinician - Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatric Cardiology - Physician MD/DO license in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana or eligible. - Additional training in non-invasive imaging including fetal echo is preferred.
