Job Description
Hematology / Oncology at MetroHealth is seeking an experienced APP for the Cell Therapy Program. APPs with a particular interest in Bone Marrow Transplants and CAR-T therapies. MetroHealth has begun HLA typing candidates for transplant, and will be opening a new transplant unit this fall. APPs will help support the launch of this exciting new program, and will be dedicated to helping each transplant patient. APPs with experience or interest in learning how to perform Bone Marrow Biopsies and help run a biopsy clinic at our Main Campus and/or Parma. HemOnc experience preferred and experience working as a provider is required. Hematologic Malignancy and Transplant experience is preferred The MetroHealth System, Cuyahoga County’s public health system, and its staff of nearly 8,000 provides care at MetroHealth’s four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers and 40 additional sites throughout Cuyahoga County. The MetroHealth System is committed to creating a healthier community Summary: Delivers direct patient care consistent with the advanced practice registered nurse’s education, experience and certification, in collaboration with a physician, which includes diagnosis, management and/or referral of health care issues. Promotes consumer, family, and community health through preventative health care actions and through patient advocacy. The advanced practice registered nurse may also manage complex illnesses and/or deliver specialty care. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System. Required: MSN or grandfathered under Ohio Revised Code Graduate of an accredited advanced practice registered nurse program Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Ohio Certificate of Authority as an Advanced Practice Nurse from the Ohio Board of Nursing Certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in specialty. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or obtains within 90 days of hire. Obtains other advanced life support certifications applicable to practice area within 180 days of hire Meets the requirements/qualifications for clinical privileges in the specialty/department with The MetroHealth System and must report to Medical Staff Office at time of hire to apply for clinical privileges Maintains a standard care arrangement and renews/signs it as required by the Ohio Board of Nursing Note: Other department specific qualifications for providers will be addressed through the Certificate of Authority and credentialing process. Preferred: Have or be able to apply for a Certificate to Prescribe/Externship from the Ohio Board of Nursing
