The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of South Alabama is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual for a faculty position specializing in Orthopaedic Spine Surgery. The successful candidate will engage in clinical practice, teach medical students and residents, and conduct cutting-edge research in spinal disorders. Responsibilities: • Provide comprehensive clinical care for patients with various spinal disorders, including degenerative spine disease, trauma, and deformity. • Perform advanced surgical procedures, including minimally invasive techniques and spinal deformity corrections. • Develop and deliver educational content through lectures, workshops, and hands-on training for medical students and residents. • Conduct and publish high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals related to spine surgery and spinal disorders. • Actively participate in multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and foster collaborative research initiatives. • Mentor medical students and residents to promote their professional development and clinical skills. • Contribute to departmental administration, committee work, and community outreach activities. Qualifications: • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree. • Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Orthopaedic Surgery. • Fellowship training in Spine Surgery or a related subspecialty is required. • Board certification or eligibility in Orthopaedic Surgery. • Proven ability to conduct independent research with a record of publications in the field. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for teaching and mentorship. • Commitment to academic excellence and the advancement of spine care.
