General Introduction

Wilson Medical Center is a private, non-for-profit, community based corporation serving a five county region representing 120,000 people.

*12-bed-ICU, 6 O.R. suites,
*23-bed Telemetry,
*32 bed Obstetrics/Gynecologic and Pediatric Unit,
*17-bed Psychiatric Unit
Services include a same-day surgery center, 24-hour emergency department, birth center, level II nursery, outpatient laboratory service, four primary care centers, wellness department, palliative care center, gastroenterology/endoscopy center, radiation/oncology center, cardiac catheterization center, sleep laboratory, and an imaging center that includes advanced diagnostic procedures such as MRI, CT, mammography, ultrasound, bone densitometry and stereotaxis.
Conveniently located halfway between New York and Florida off I-95, 45 minutes east of Raleigh and Research Triangle Park, 2 hours from the NC coast and 3.5 hours from the mountains. The population of Wilson County is approximately 74,000.
