About the Organization
Genesis HealthCare System is an integrated health care delivery system headquartered 45 minutes east of Columbus via I-70 in Zanesville, Ohio. Its family of health care and related organizations includes its recently expanded and completely renovated 260 acute-care bed, not-for-profit hospital, an extensive network of more than 300 physicians representing most specialties, and multiple outpatient care centers throughout the region. The new addition includes a new 46-bed emergency/trauma department, new intensive care unit, new heart center, 13 new operating rooms, new comprehensive cancer center, a new MOB, and new all-private inpatient rooms.
Genesis is the largest health care provider in its six-county region of southeastern Ohio, which includes Muskingum, Morgan, Perry, Coshocton, Noble and Guernsey counties. Genesis provides a higher level of service than what is typically found in a community of its size including open-heart surgery, trauma care, Level II neonatal intermediate care unit, neurosurgery, comprehensive cancer services, interventional and EP cardiology, urology, ENT, GI, urogynecology, general/breast surgery, pain management, diagnostic radiology, hospice/palliative care, and home health services.
