VIRGINIA - Augusta Health (AH), an independent, not-for-profit, community health system, located in Augusta County, Virginia in the heart of the scenic and historic Shenandoah Valley. Since opening in 1994, AH has received national distinction having been designated as a Solucient 100 Top Hospital twice, 100 Top Regional hospital once, U.S. News and World Reports Americas Best Hospitals three times, and has received the HealthGrades Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence the last 4 out of 5 years, which places AH in the top 5% of all hospitals in the country. AH is financially prosperous as evidenced by its Moodys A1 rating, being one of only two hospitals its size in the nation to hold that level of credit worthiness. The medical center offers an impressive array of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services. In addition to the traditional Inpatient units, AMC also has an inpatient rehabilitation unit, a 29 bed skilled nursing unit and a 20 bed psychiatric unit. The Augusta Medical Center Emergency Department sees nearly 60,000 visits each year. AMC provides a full range of outpatient services, including both medical and radiation oncology cancer treatment, diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular services, a pain management center, a behavioral health center, a Nursing Treatment Center, and a sleep lab facility.
