About the Organization
General Introduction
------------
Baltimore Medical System (BMS) was formed in 1984 when the City of Baltimore privatized four clinics run by the Health Department, creating a new non-profit, community-based organization. Since that time, we have grown both in number of sites and in the diversity and size of the populations we serve. Today, we have 50,000+ active users, served through six full-service primary care health centers and eight School-Based Health sites. We have a well-trained group of Primary Care and Behavioral Health Physicians, Nurse practitioners, and Physician Assistants who believe in the mission of providing high-quality health care in underserved areas. We participate in the Federal and State Loan Repayment Programs.
