About the Organization
Catawba Valley Medical Center (CVMC) is the largest (258 bed) not-for-profit hospital in the region, and is one of the few remaining publicly owned facilities in NC. Over the last 49 years, CVMC has grown from a small community hospital into a comprehensive regional medical center, offering a full continuum of services.
CVMC also employs over 50 primary care physicians, specialists, and advanced care practitioners that make up Catawba Valley Medical Group.
As a patient-centered medical home, we leverage technology and the latest in evidence-based care to treat the whole person and not just their disease. We partner with our patients to focus on disease prevention. For those diagnosed with a chronic disease, we use the most current treatments available to attempt to avoid the development of expensive complications. We also work to provide easy access to care so acute illnesses and injuries can be treated quickly in a familiar and comfortable setting. As a member of the Catawba Valley Medical Center system, we have immediate access to electronic notes, emergency room visits, hospitalizations, procedures, labs and diagnostic procedures completed at the hospital as soon as they are documented. This allows us to quickly and more efficiently determine the best treatment plan for each patient.
