About the Organization
St. Claire HealthCare, the largest employer in the county is a 159 bed Regional Referral Center representing 31 medical specialties. St. Claire serves an eleven-county area of more than 160,000 people and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2013. St. Claire offers a community faculty appointment with the Univ. of Kentucky allowing the opportunity to mentor medical students/residents and possible research.
Our campus consists of a newly constructed 81,000 sq. ft. Medical Pavilion connected to the medical center and housing our medicine and surgical specialties and a $30 Million Center for Health Education and Research Building. The CHER Building is a collaborative effort with St. Claire HealthCare University of Kentucky Morehead State University. The facility includes Morehead State University's Health Sciences Programs and their departments of nursing and imaging sciences, University of Kentucky's College of Medicine Program (expanding in 2019), including but not limited to physician assistant and family nurse practitioner programs, and certain aspects of their College of Dentistry and College of Pharmacy programs. This facility houses a freestanding St. Claire HealthCare primary care clinic where our resident education takes place. .

Morehead is located in northeastern KY directly off Interstate 64, within a one hour drive from Lexington/Central KY and Huntington WV and within two hours from Louisville, KY and Cincinnati, OH. Our community offers:
