About the Organization

WVU Medicine is West Virginia University's affiliated health system, West Virginia's largest private employer, and a national leader in patient safety and quality. With 2,000 licensed beds and 2,000 active medical staff, the Health System includes 16 hospitals, including a 675-bed academic medical center in Morgantown, West Virginia; seven community hospitals; and eight critical access hospitals. WVU Medicine is continuing to grow in order to best serve the residents of the Mountain State. In the last few years, weve added the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute, WVU Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute, and expanded our oncology services through the WVU Cancer Institute. In January 2022, we are opening a new WVU Medicine Childrens Hospital.
