About the Organization
DRHC is on beautiful Treaty #3 territory, providing local healthcare to the community of Dryden, several surrounding rural municipalities, and the First Nation communities of Migisi Sahgaigan (Eagle Lake), Wabigoon Lake Ojibway, and Wabauskang in northwestern Ontario, Canada.
We are a 42-bed hospital, including a 3-bed CCU, 24/7 Emergency Department, and 2 modern OR theatres with 1 fully integrated MIS suite. We have a regionally-integrated EMR (Meditech, current development towards adopting Meditech Expanse), on-site diagnostic imaging (CT, ultrasound, x-ray), labratory services, and nearby pathology (Kenora).
DRHC is conveniently located on the same grounds as the Dingwall Medical Clinic and Dryden Area Family Health Team, making collaborative care a breeze. We have a current team of rural generalist family physicians that provide primary care, hospitalist, ED, and OB care, two local GP/Anesthetists, and a local General Surgeon. DRHC also hosts a Specialty Clinic that brings in visiting specialists year-round, supporting quality healthcare closer to home. This includes Orthopedic Surgery (knee, hip, spine), ENT, Plastics, Obstetrics, Gynecology, Rheumatology, Urology, Pediatrics, and Psychiatry.
