About the Organization
General Introduction
------------
Hocking Valley Community Hospital is a rural, critical access hospital in the scenic Hocking Hills of Southeast Ohio. Our community offers affordable and safe neighborhoods, and a variety of recreational activities. We are 45 minutes from Columbus which offers excellent shopping, dining, and cultural events. Logan is also only thirty minutes from Ohio University in Athens.
Continuing Education
--------------
Physicians belonging to our medical group receive a CME budget as well as coverage for dues and subscriptions.
Benefits
---------
Benefits offered will depend on the specific opportunity chosen. Our medical group offers a full range of benefits. If you choose to join a private practice or go solo, benefits will vary. Your primary benefit when choosing Hocking Valley is your quality of life, often sacrificed in more urban employment settings.
Culture & Recreation
----------
The Hocking Hills are home to many artisans that specialize in woodcarving, ceramics, painting, photography and more. Our community has live music in downtown Logan throughout the summer.
Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy hiking in five state parks, kayaking the Hocking River, or cycling on the back roads. Hunters and naturalists enjoy the variety of wildlife in the area.
If that is not enough, we are less than one hour from Columbus for restaurants, shopping and entertainment.
Housing & Schools
-----
We offer affordable housing, a gated community, and new schools. You may live one mile from the hospital but feel 10 miles from anywhere. We opened three new elementary schools in 2004-5, and are currently breaking ground for our new high school.
About the Community
Logan is a small community nestled in the beautiful Hocking Hills enjoyed by 1.5 million tourists throughout the year. You can raise a family in a safe community with top quality public schools. Our city recreation department offers multiple team sports for the youth in our community. There churches of almost every denomination in Logan as well.
If you prefer a more urban setting, we are only about 20 minutes from Lancaster and 55 minutes from Columbus. We do have physicians that commute from other areas. It's just a matter of what suits you best.
