About the Organization
Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center is a 25-bed critical access,non-profit facility located in Globe, Arizona. We have continued to provide the best services available, adding new services, technology and state-of-the-art equipment in all departments. Through growth and expansion of the past few years, CVRMC has opened clinics in Young, Kearny, Superior and Tonto Basin.
In November 2017 we completed an Expansion project of 66,810 sq. ft which provides New Patient/Family Centered Med/Surg, Family Birth Center Rooms, ICU Rooms, Pharmacy, Cath Lab, Wound Center , Caf and Kitchen, Gift Shop, 14,160 Square Feet of Remodeled Space, 11,000 Square Feet for New Physician Offices, Family Lounges and Open/Spacious Corridors.
In March of 2010, Cobre Valley Community Hospital became Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center. The new name is a reflection of the customers and patients served by the expanding facility.
The word "Cobre" is Spanish for "copper." The communities of the region served by CVRMC exist because of the long history of copper mining. The words, "Cobre Valley," were preserved in honor of all our copper miners-- for their commitment and fortitude to supply the world with the natural resource our region is known for, copper.
The transition our hospital has gone through since 1910 has been astounding. From a "tent clinic" in 1910, a miner's hospital in 1913, a community hospital in 1980, and now a regional medical center---the accomplishments are a result of the dedicated and compassionate workforce the hospital has maintained throughout the years. Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center will continue its mission: "To develop and maintain a healthcare delivery system that serves the region with quality, efficiency, and compassion."
About the Community
The region served by Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center is a 65 mile radius which includes the towns and cities of Globe, Miami, Claypool, San Carlos, Superior, Kearny, Hayden, Winkleman, Tonto Basin, Roosevelt, and Young. These communities border Arizona's magnificent Tonto National Forest and are surrounded by some of the most spectacular mountain vistas in the Southwest. The mining and ranching industries are still a major factor in the economy of each of these communities.
Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center is also within a 20 minute drive of Roosevelt Lake, the largest lake in Arizona, and within a 30 minute drive to 7,000 feet up in the beautiful Pinal Mountains. The hospital is also within a 90 minute drive to Phoenix, Arizona's capital, and Tucson to the south.
Our location offers the opportunity to enjoy the surrounding lakes and mountain areas of central Arizona as well as a small town friendly, atmosphere.
