Mission Statement
Thunder Bay Community Health Service commits its resources and passion
to provide comprehensive primary health care services for people of all ages.
Thunder Bay Community Health Service, Inc., (TBCHS) is a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) corporation governed by a volunteer board of directors representing the communities it serves. TBCHS began providing health care services with its first clinic in Hillman in 1982. We have continued to grow and expand since that time and now provide a full spectrum of primary health care to patients in Alpena, Montmorency, Presque Isle and Cheboygan counties. Effective July 1, 2012 TBCHS was awarded PCMH designation by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. In October 2013 TBCHS received Certificate of Recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), Level III for its Hillman and Atlanta clinic sites, and in January 2015, for the Rogers City and Onaway clinic sites. This is a highly recognized commendation for Systematic Use of Patient Centered, Coordinated Care Management Processes.
In 2014 TBCHS serviced 12,951 unduplicated patients and provided over 48,000 patient visits. We are one of the largest employers in the area with over 100 employees on staff. Please see out website at tbchs.org for more information.
