About the Organization
Womack Army Medical Center is a world-class, state-of-the-art, evidence-based medical center that proudly serves more than 225,000 eligible beneficiaries. This is the largest beneficiary population in the U.S. Army and is an integral component of Fort Bragg's military mission.
Womack Army Medical Center is dedicated to Medal of Honor recipient PFC Bryant Homer Womack, a courageous medic who gave his life tending to the wounds of his fellow soldiers, even though he, himself, had sustained mortal wounds during a surprise enemy attack in Korea in 1952.
About the Community
One of the busiest military complexes worldwide, Fort Bragg is home to the legendary 82nd Airborne Division, the XVIII Airborne Corps, the U.S. Army Special Operations Command, the U.S. Army Forces Command, the U.S. Army Reserve Command and the U.S. Army Parachute Team, the Golden Knights.
Fort Bragg is 2 hours from the beach and 5 hours from the Appalachian Mountains with easy access to I-95 and all points north and south. This central North Carolina location enjoys seasonably palatable weather year-round.
