About the Organization
Good Shepherd Health Care System is a 25-bed non-profit hospital located in Eastern Oregon and is one of the largest employers within the community. Hermiston is well over 16,000 in population and currently services a population of 50, 000 with their healthcare needs. GSHCS has undergone recent remodeling and expansions to include a new state of the art diagnostic imaging center, emergency department, surgery department, and newly completed womens medical center. We have been voted as one of the top 100 Critical Access Hospitals and one of the top 100 Employers in the State of Oregon.
About the Community
Hermiston is located in the heart of Eastern Oregon just 7 miles south of the Columbia River. Water sports are plentiful and include boating, water skiing, swimming, fishing, and wind surfing.
Community pride and small town spirit characterize Hermiston. Our central location between the cities of Portland, Spokane, and Boise make it a short drive in every direction to a major metropolitan area. Its proximity to the Blue Mountains also makes it a favorite destination for those who enjoy hiking, fishing, hunting and camping. In the winter, snowmobiling, skiing, sledding and snow tubing are also popular mountain activities.
