About the Organization
Mahaska Health Partnership in Oskaloosa, Iowa is not your typical Critical Access Hospital. We have outstanding results in patient safety, patient quality and patient satisfaction, and are Joint Commission accredited. In 2013, we opened a 52,000 sq ft patient care wing that houses Surgical Services, Inpatient Services and our Birthing Center. Surgical Services are offered in Podiatry, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Orthopaedics and General Surgery. Visiting specialists in Urology, ENT and Ophthalmology also perform surgeries at MHP. Many surgical cases are performed on the da Vinci Xi surgical robot.
Emergency Services are staffed 24/7 by employed emergency physicians. We are a designated Trauma Center with access to trauma surgeons and team members. We own and operate a three unit ambulance service staffed by paramedics. We have advanced radiological services including new 3D digital mammography, new 64-slice CT Scans, 3D Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, new wide bore MRI, new digital diagnostic X-ray and digital fluoroscopy, as well as PET/CT services. Home Health & Hospice Services are also part of our health system, and include the 6-bed Hospice Serenity House. MHP has extensive outpatient Behavioral Health Services. We have two Psychiatrists and a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, as well as 15 counselors and social workers who treat patients of all ages for mental health and substance use concerns.
