About the Organization

White House Clinics is a federally qualified health center operating eight brick and mortar community health centers and two mobile health units in Jackson, Madison, Estill, Rockcastle, and Garrard Counties, Kentucky. The organization was founded in 1973 in McKee, Jackson County, Kentucky by Dr. Philip Curd. Fresh from a term of service in the Peace Corps, Dr. Curd was determined to find a way to use his medical training to serve those Kentuckians most in need of healthcare. At the time, Jackson County was the Kentucky county most in need of a physician, so Dr. Curd hung a shingle on a small white frame house in the county seat of McKee; the white house eventually gave way to the White House Clinics name.

Dr. Curds tradition of service proudly carries on today as White House Clinics continues to offer an array of primary care services for Kentuckians most in need. Over the 50-year history, the organization has grown from a single medical office to eight state-of-the-art comprehensive brick and mortar health care facilities and two mobile care units offering primary care in medical, dental, behavioral health, substance use disorder services, pharmacy, radiology, and enabling services. White House Clinics has most recently launched mobile services which includes a 2-operatory oral health bus and a mobile primary care unit. The delivery of comprehensive, multi-disciplinary care through skilled, innovative care teams is a priority to the 345-member organization.
