Rainier School is a residential facility in Buckley Washington that is recruiting for a Primary Care Physician (Internist or Family Medicine preferred) to provide medical care for a closed panel of disabled adults with interesting and complex special needs. Each physician has a caseload of approximately 120 clients with very low turnover. You will work with a support team of nurses, psychologists, pharmacists, and other health professionals providing long term care. We have both visiting consultants and an established referral base. No billing or inpatient hospital work, but coordination of care with consultants is critical. You will actually have time to call consultants and see your patients together when consultants are on grounds. Weekday hours are four 10-hour days with shared phone/call duties at night and weekends. Calls are from our registered nurses regarding familiar patients, but no required hands-on presence on grounds after hours. Experience or training with general, geriatric, and psychiatric medical care is preferred, but with our support team, including professional staff, it is easy to develop the skills and familiarity required. We offer one of the few supportive working environments without production restraints in Western Washington. Employment is a State of Washington position with salary and standard benefits including malpractice, no time limitations or commitments, and no tail insurance requirements. Part time is also negotiable.
