About the Organization
Welcome to the University of North Texas System. UNT System includes the University of North Texas in Denton, the University of North Texas at Dallas and the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. We are the only university system based exclusively in the robust Dallas-Fort Worth region and we are committed to transforming lives and creating economic opportunity through education. We are growing with the DFW region, enrolling a record 47,000+ students across our system and awarding nearly 12,000 degrees each year.
About the Community
The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth is a public academic health science center that offers the nations most comprehensive medical science education on a single campus. It is part of the University of North Texas System Enterprise and was founded in 1970 as the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. Today, The University of North Texas Health Science Center consists of five schools that specialize in patient-centered education, research, and health care. HSC Fort Worth proudly serves the community through a variety of community and school outreach programs.
In the late 19th century, Fort Worth became an important trading post for cowboys at the end of the Chisholm Trail. Today, its a modern city, with international art institutions, plenty of five-star restaurants and multiple options for entertainment. The historic Fort Worth Stockyards are home to rodeos, shopping, and the National Cowgirl Museum.
