Mid-Columbia Medical Center is a highly progressive, 49-bed Planetree hospital and has become renowned as a one-of-a-kind center of healing, a place different from what most expect of a community hospital. Mid-Columbia Medical Center was the first hospital in the world to implement the Planetree philosophy of patient-centered care facility wide and incorporates an array of complementary and integrative therapies for treating the whole person, mind, body and spirit. The National Planetree Organization honored MCMC as a model site. Mid-Columbia Medical Center provide exceptional specialty services including Neurology, ENT, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Sleep Medicine, General Surgery, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, OB/Gyn, Urology, Occupational Health, Celilo Cancer Center, Diabetes Education and Physical/Speech/Occupational Therapy.
About the Community
The Dalles, Oregon is located in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, surrounded by abundant recreational opportunities and breathtaking scenery. The Gorge is renowned for world-class skiing, wind-surfing, hiking, biking, kayaking and fishing. The Dalles is home to approximately 15,000 residents and has a diverse economic base which has provided a very stable economy over the years with a high quality of life. Compared to Portland, more than 300 days of sunshine each year are enjoyed here which supports the large cherry and fruit grower industries. Over 20+ vineyards and wineries dot the landscape and the many national and state parks and waterfalls lend to exceptional outdoor activities. A variety of festivals, music, art and theatre opportunities are never far, no matter what the season. The Dalles is approximately one hour east of Portland.
