St. Joseph Regional Medical Center is a regional referral center and as such serves seven counties, over 185,000 lives and supports seven Critical Access Hospitals located throughout 22,000 square miles. We are licensed for 146 beds and have the following departments and services lines: Level III Trauma Center; 24/7 Interventional Cardiology; Comprehensive Cancer Center and Blood Institute; Gastroenterology; Neurology; Wound/Ostomy/Incontinence Care; Internal Medicine; Family Practice; In / Out Patient Mental Health; Level II Birthing Center; Hospitalists; Radiation Oncology; Urology; General Surgery; Interventional and Neuro Radiology; Palliative Care; Hospice; Pastoral Care; Infectious Disease; Sleep Labs; Cath Labs; Pathology; Emergency Medicine, Women's Imaging Center and more.
About the Community
Lewiston, Idaho is located in the lowest elevation in the state and on the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater Rivers. Its scenic and safe and provides four distinct seasons; little to no humidity; minimal inner city noise; low crime; ample amenities; easy traffic; a regional airport; and easy access to higher education (Lewis Clark State College, University of Idaho, Washington State University and Walla Walla Community College). We enjoy tremendous access to waterways, hiking, fishing, hunting, biking, wine tasting, berry picking and gardening. Our growing season spans from May to early November. Our winters are easy with very little snowfall in the valley and yet easy access to sledding, snowmobiling, skiing and snowshoeing. Lewiston, Idaho has approximately 32,000 in population; with its sister cities across the river, Clarkston and Asotin, Washington we make up nearly 57,000.
The next closest medical system is in Spokane, WA which we access/utilize via LifeFlight in situations needing a higher level of care. St. Joseph is surrounded by seven Critical Access Hospitals; our Emergency Department sees over 33,000 patients annually.
We have a stable economy with numerous large employer groups (Clearwater Paper, ATK, Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Cambia Health Solutions and St. Joseph Regional Medical Center).
Shopping is more than adequate with the following: Macy's, JC Penney's, Bath & Body Works, Maurices, Costco, Pier One, Home Depot, Winco, Super WalMart, Ross, TJ Maxx, Eddie Bauer and more. Spokane, WA is an easy 90 mile drive north and hosts big shopping, an international airport, broadway shows and more.
