The city has an estimated population of over 73,000. Less then 3 hours drive time to Little Rock, Ar, Kansas City, Mo, Springfield, Mo, Branson, Mo, Tulsa, Ok and Oklahoma City. Fayetteville lies in the heart of the Ozark Mountains and its unique location affords it four distinct seasons and several outdoor activities are nearby. Since 1934 the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks (VHSO) has been providing high quality care for our nations Veterans. The medical center in Fayetteville, AR is a 73 bed acute care facility. Comprehensive healthcare is provided through primary and secondary care in areas of medicine, surgery, mental health, physical therapy, radiology, diagnostic laboratory, audiology and speech pathology, dentistry, eye care, and womens health. In Spring 2013, VHSO added a new clinical addition to our medical center, which allows us to provide a full continuum of patient centered one stop quality healthcare for Primary and Specialty care with supporting ancillary services.We serve Veterans living in and visiting 23 counties in northwest Arkansas, southwest Missouri and eastern Oklahoma. VHSO has Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in Fort Smith, Harrison and Ozark, Arkansas; Branson and Mount Vernon, Missouri; and Jay, Oklahoma. We strive for outstanding care provided to out Veterans, and most recently have received the 2012 Arkansas Governors Quality Award for Achievement and the Robert W. Carey Circle of Excellence Award in March 2013
