About the Organization
Buena Vista Regional Medical Center is a JCAHO accredited critical access facility offering a wide range of medical, surgical and specialty services. With strong market share, BVRMC performed the following in the previous fiscal year: Delivered 374 babies. Admitted 1682 inpatients and 55,364 outpatient visits. Employed over 400 people from 47 different communities. BVRMC strives to be a great place for physicians to work. Home base for general surgeon and orthopaedic surgeons. Diagnostic imaging services overseen by onsite employed radiologist. Inpatient services continually ranked above 90th percentile in patient satisfaction, according to Press Ganey, since July 2013. As we prepare for future growth, we will open a $26 million building addition and renovation in the summer of 2016. 68,750 square feet of new space to include medical surgical rooms, ICU rooms, obstetrics rooms, emergency room, lab, and main entrance. A total of 8 LDRP rooms.

The 12,000 people of Storm Lake enjoy low-cost living with the amenities of a lake town. The 3,200 acre lake allows great fishing and family boating. Storm Lake also has two golf courses, modern campgrounds and a bike/hike trail. A highly acclaimed public school system, a private K-12 school, Iowa Central Community College, and Buena Vista University (a four year liberal arts academic institution).
Due to job and recreational opportunities, Storm Lake is a regional hub which draws in many patients from surrounding communities. We serve a population base of approximately 25,000 people.
