About the Organization
Desert AIDS Project sits on a 3.5-acre campus in Palm Springs that includes our clinics, a county public health center, and a welcoming 81-unit apartment complex for low-income people with a diagnosis of HIV or AIDS. The complex includes a swimming pool, barbecue area, community room, and dog park. We also have home health care teams of nurses and social workers for patients who are homebound.
Our clients are proof of our value proposition that D.A.P. treats and supports the whole person, all under one roof. Besides primary and HIV-specialty care, we offer a dental clinic, complete behavioral health services, assistance with food and housing, a Walgreens pharmacy, lab services, a wellness center, computer lab, back-to-work program and so much more all tied together for the patients by case managers and benefits navigators. We also provide services daily through our Annette Bloch Cancer Care Center and The Dock, a sexual health clinic.
We maximize the time our physicians spend with their patients because we take care of all the medical practice management details. In addition to a generous benefits package, we also provide malpractice insurance.
Youll see these words on the back of every employees business card: Until theres a cure, the vision of Desert AIDS Project is of healthy individuals, families, and communities despite the existence of HIV. Since 1984, weve strived to bring this vision to life because the mission of Desert AIDS Project is to enhance and promote the health and well-being of our community.
Someday, we hope that people will come to D.A.P. to become cured, rather than for ongoing care, of their HIV. Until that day, D.A.P.s holistic model of care focuses on the complete medical and social support needs of those who seek our service.
