Welcome to the University of Vermont Department of Surgery! The Department consists of 100 plus faculty members who perform over 11,000 operations and care for over 120,000 patients in our clinics and wards.

The mission of the Department of Surgery is to improve the health of our patients by promoting excellence in patient care, education, and research. Our Burlington home is nestled between the shores of Lake Champlain and the vistas of the Green Mountains. Our academic office is located in the Fletcher House on the campus of the University of Vermont Medical Center, adjacent to The University of Vermont; fostering a culture of collaboration and partnership.
