About the Organization
FIMRC, the Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children, is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health of families in the developing world through innovative and self-sustainable health improvement programs. We aim to accomplish this goal by asserting a multidimensional strategy that includes clinical services, extensive community outreach efforts and health education programs. By tailoring our programs to the needs expressed by the families and local leaders, we continue to strive towards positive, sustainable change. Operating since 2002, FIMRC operates 8 project sites in 7 different countries around the world including: Uganda, Peru, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and India. Each location encompasses FIMRCs mission, but the way in which execute our work differs depending on the needs of the community. What sets FIMRC apart from other organizations is that we accept medical professionals from all backgrounds as volunteers at our sites around the world. Volunteers are welcome to travel to all project sites throughout the year and our team tailors each experience to fit the individuals unique interests and skills while addressing the needs of the community.
