About the Organization
Each of Florida's State-Operated Mental Health Treatment Facilities are recipients of the Governors Sterling Award for Organizational Performance Excellence. Locations are Florida State Hospital, Chattahoochee (just west of Tallahassee) with 500 civil and 500 forensic beds; Northeast Florida State Hospital, Macclenny (just west of Jacksonville) with 600 civil patient beds; and North Florida Evaluation and Treatment Center, Gainesville with 200 forensic male beds.
