About the Organization
Transforming Healthcare Close to Home.
Effingham Health System (EHS) is transforming healthcare for the people in Effingham County and surrounding communities. In recent years, under the leadership of the current CEO, Dr. Fran Witt, this 25-bed critical access hospital, supported by over 400 employees, has introduced da Vinci Robotic Surgery, a Cancer Care Center, pediatric services, and school-based telemedicine.
By developing partnerships with leading regional specialists, EHS has provided patients with expert cardiology, orthopedic, and vascular careclose to home. The healthcare system encompasses five Family Medicine locations (serving 22,000 patients with a 97% satisfaction rating), two imaging centers, Womens Health, a 105-bed Effingham Care & Rehabilitation Center (nursing home), and the new EHS Foundation. The Level IV Trauma Center handles 18,000 patient visits a year, while the hospital surgery center performs 1,850 surgeries.
A focus on best-practices, evidence-based medicine, and the patient experience is helping to drive tremendous growth for Effingham Health System.
EHS recently began a digital innovation journey to transform its current fragmented IT infrastructure into an integrated, single-source electronic health record (EHR) and financial ecosystem across all patient care locations.
