About the Organization
CHCC is an 86 bed hospital with four outpatient clinics (Adult Medicine, Pediatrics, Women's Health, Behavioral Health). We currently have 530 nurses and ancillary staff and 83 Physicians, Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioners. CHCC is the sole hospital for the Northern Mariana Islands and provides care to the neighboring islands of Tinian and Rota. We have limited resources given our remote location however, our specialists have grown tremendously over the years. We currently offer the following services - nephrology, orthopedist, cardiology, oncology, psychiatry, ENT.
About the Community
Saipan is located in the Northern Mariana Islands about 120 miles (190 km) north of Guam and 5 nautical miles (9.3 km) northeast of Tinian. It is separated by the Saipan Channel. Saipan is about 12 miles long and 5.5 miles wide. Its the principal island and major commercial center of the archipelago. We are a 3 hour flight to Tokyo, 4 hour flight to Korea and Philippines.
The island's population is very diverse and made up of many different cultures. Chamorro and Carolinan are the indigenous people of The Marianas, Filipinos, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Bangladeshi, American, and Russian make up the people of the island of 50,000. People are extremely friendly and welcoming here.
