About the Organization
University of Michigan Health-Sparrow is a community-governed, not-for-profit health system in Mid-Michigan, formed from a partnership between Sparrow Health System and University of Michigan Health. It is the largest health system in the region, with over 150 care sites and hospitals including its main campus, UM Health-Sparrow Lansing, which is a teaching hospital and the area's only Level I Trauma Center. The system offers a wide range of services, from primary and specialty care to advanced treatment centers for cancer, heart, and neurology, and serves as a regional center for pediatrics, orthopedics, and neonatal care. About the Community
Bordered by four of the five Great Lakes and boasting 11,037 inland lakes, Michigan is a leading U.S. state for recreational boating. Michigans four seasons provide for an abundance of year-around sporting and outdoor activities. Michigan ranks 3rd in the nation in total number of golf courses and 1st in courses per capita. Sparrow is located in close proximity to Michigan State University and the State capital. Mid-Michigan is home to MSUs College of Human Medicine, College of Osteopathic Medicine and College of Nursing. The Wharton Center of Performing Arts on the MSU campus hosts a number of major Broadway Shows each season.
