Culture & Recreation
----------
Abounding in historic attractions, Miami County is site for 10 museums, as well as numerous parks and camp grounds, seven golf courses, two country clubs, an indoor ice arena, several cultural centers and a wildlife preserve. The housing market is booming, providing an excellent array of fine living options. The educational options in Miami County are endless including excellent public schools, parochial schools, private schools (including a highly regarded Montessori School), and a Christian school (preschool through high school). Miami Valley School, a college preparatory school, is also located in Dayton. Sixteen colleges and universities are also located within an hour's drive, including Wright State University School of Medicine, where many UVMC physicians hold faculty appointments.
These attributes have always been a major draw for our new physicians. We have an incredibly strong economic base with several stable high-tech industries, an unemployment rate of less than 3%, fine schools, and a booming housing market that make Miami County a tremendous place to work and live.
