Enjoy one of the Northwest's premier small town environments with an excellent standard of medical practice. You will be stepping into a busy Community Health Center practice where you would provide comprehensive Family Medicine and still take advantage of our lifestyle and location.
The Northwest Community Health Center offers an opportunity for the selected physician to provide a broad range of comprehensive family medicine to a rural community. The local critical access hospital staffs Emergency Room Physicians as well as Hospitalist so the only call is after hours phone only coverage for clinical questions (1 in 6) and Obstetrics call (1 in 5) if that is part of the selected privileges. Also, if interested, you will have the opportunity to mentor rural health medical students as a Clinical Instructor for the University of Washington Medical School.
The community has a wide range of other services including physicians practicing in the specialties of Family Practice, Internal Medicine, OB-Gyn, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Urology, Podiatry, Radiology, as well as a comprehensive Critical Access hospital complete with ICU, two modern OR suites, spiral CT scanner, MRI, ultrasound, and a state of the art PACS/teleradiolgy system.
NWCHC offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits. Minimum qualifications: Graduate of accredited school of medicine, BC/BE in Family Practice, and eligible for hospital privileges. Prefer: Rural health experience in similar setting. We are a HPSA site eligible for NHSC scholar placement and loan repayment.
About the Community
Situated 90 miles west of Kalispell, 165 miles east of Spokane, Washington and a few miles south of the Canadian border, Libby, is a self-contained community ideally situated for those looking for a sustainable practice, wonderful environment and the opportunity to live and experience the northwest quality of life.
We believe that Lincoln County and the community of Libby truly are one of the last, "last best places in Montana." Libby is the County seat of Lincoln County with the population of approximately 20,000. Libby and a four-mile radius outside of the City have a population of approximately 12,000. Outdoor activities abound of every sort including: big game hunting of deer, elk, sheep, bear, moose and mountain lion; fishing on a myriad of mountain lakes, streams and on the Kootenai River; and year round outdoor recreation for the avid or beginning recreationalist including skiing, hiking and mountain biking. All of this against a backdrop of the Cabinet Mountains wilderness towering 9000 feet from the valley floor.
Educational opportunities include the Lincoln County Campus satellite community college and well-respected public and private school systems. Libby boasts of its high-speed cable/internet access, has an active Internet users group, and provides many places for worship.
